It's another week.
We here at the Bluestem Track Club are still plugging away, running miles, eating baked goods, and drinking too much coffee. This week had a few BTC 5k milestones -
Course record and new leader - Chris Melgares - ran 14:47 to take the lead in the overall competition and Trisha Moore ran 21:03 to take the lead for the women.
First time road racer and former high school real-sports star (football/basketball/baseball) John Frigon went out and made it sting for 22 minutes - a solid debut for sure.
2 time course completer Mary Scharfe went out and did half of the Covid-19 Miler, which is as close as anyone has tried, because that run would SUCK. Send a recap and pics if you do force yourself to do it.
Here's the whole shebang right now:

There's 10 days left on this thing, so you're getting close on time. The weather looks awful for the next few days and then - boom - you just have a week left. Anyway, don't be a pansy and get out there and give it a whirl.
When this thing is over, there's still no races to do, instead of crying about it, try out MRC's virtual race challenge
https://manhattanrunningco.com/social-distance-virtual-running-project/
also, share this on all your social media BS - we are assuming the number of runners is low because of lack of engagement story of my life and not because the runners of Manhattan are a bunch of wusses.
I'm not above resorting to shaming you.
see you from a distance on the roads!
